Legal and risk
Plain-language disclosures: what a swap involves, what it costs, and the terms you swap under.
Risk disclosure
- Digital assets are highly volatile. Prices can fall sharply in minutes, and an asset can lose all of its value.
- Swaps run on public blockchains. A confirmed transaction cannot be reversed by Solar Swap or anyone else. Coins sent to a wrong address, or the wrong coin sent to a deposit address, can be lost.
- Swaps are carried out by third-party exchanges that Solar Swap does not control. An exchange can delay, refund or fail a swap, and may ask you to verify your identity under its own rules before releasing a swap.
- The exchange pays the swapped coins straight to the address you give. Solar Swap never holds your coins: its fee is collected by the exchange out of the swap and paid to Solar Swap separately.
- Quotes are estimates. Rates follow the market until your deposit arrives, so the amount you receive can differ from the quote.
- Nothing on this site is investment, legal or tax advice.
Security notes
- The interface never asks for a seed phrase or private key. Anyone who does is attempting theft.
- The website's server validates every request, rate-limits quotes and swaps, and keeps provider credentials out of the browser. Solar Swap's swap service opens each order at the exchange with your address as its destination and only follows it: it holds no customer funds.
- Every transfer on the way to you is public: the swap's page shows the exchange's payout transaction once it is sent, so you can follow it on the block explorer.
- Security reports and questions reach the team through the Support link in the footer.
Fees
- Solar Swap's fee is a percentage of the swap, collected by the exchange that carries it out and paid to Solar Swap by the exchange. Every quote shows it as its own line, in the coin you receive and in dollars, and it is already out of the amount you receive. Nothing is added on top.
- The exchange's fees and the network fee for sending you your coins are already included in the amount quoted.
- You pay the usual network fee for sending your coins to the deposit address.
Terms of Service
- The full Terms of Service (version 2, 29 October 2026) open in a popup. By opening a swap you accept them, and the terms of the exchange that carries your swap out.
- They cover what Solar Swap is, how a swap works and what can go wrong, the 1% fee, the exchanges and other services involved, everything the service collects and keeps about a swap, what stays in your browser, and the limits of Solar Swap's liability.
Privacy Policy
- The full Privacy Policy (version 2, 29 October 2026) opens in a popup. It is written for visitors in the United States, where Solar Swap is run from, and for visitors in the EU, the UK and elsewhere, with the rights each of them has.
- In short: Solar Swap has no user accounts and asks for no name, email or identity document. It keeps what a swap needs (coins, amounts, the addresses you enter, the exchange's order and status) with the IP address and country the request came from, and gives the exchange carrying out the swap what it needs to pay you. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.
- The list of swaps you opened and your cookie choice stay in your browser. Analytics cookies are used only if you accept them. You can change that choice at any time with the button below.
