FAQ
How swaps work here, what they cost, and how your coins and data are handled.
Swapping
Can I swap tokens on Solar Swap today?
Yes. Pick two coins and an amount, then give the address that receives your coins and a refund address. You get a one-time deposit address: send exactly the amount shown, and the swap's page follows it until your coins arrive, showing the payout's transaction hash the moment it's sent.
Where do quotes come from?
From Solar Swap's own swap service, which gets the rate from the exchange that carries out the swap. Every fee is already taken out of the amount shown.
Can the amount I receive change?
A little. Rates follow the market until your deposit arrives, so what you receive can differ slightly from the quote. Every fee is already taken out of it.
What if my swap fails?
Your coins are refunded to the refund address you gave when you opened the swap. The swap's page shows when a swap has closed without completing.
Networks and tokens
Which networks are supported?
Every network in the coin selector. The list comes live from the exchange behind Solar Swap, so it changes as coins are added or dropped. Swaps can cross networks, for example BTC to ETH on Ethereum. Some coins can only be sent, or only received: it depends on what the exchange takes and pays out.
Why can't I find a token?
Only coins the exchange behind Solar Swap can swap are listed, each identified by its network and contract together. A look-alike token with a copied name or symbol on another contract won't match. Search by name, ticker or contract address, or pick a network to narrow the list.
Is USDC on Base the same as USDC on Ethereum?
They represent the same asset but are different contracts on different networks, and you cannot send one to the other's network directly. Solar Swap always shows the network next to the symbol for this reason.
Fees and safety
What does Solar Swap charge?
A fee on every swap, already taken out of the amount you receive and shown as its own line on every quote. Nothing is added on top. Besides that, you only pay the usual network fee for sending your coins.
Does Solar Swap hold my funds?
No. You send your coins to the exchange's deposit address, and the exchange pays the swapped coins straight to the address you gave. Solar Swap's fee is collected by the exchange and paid to Solar Swap separately. Solar Swap never asks for your seed phrase or private keys.
How can I check that my swap was paid?
On the swap's page. It shows the deposit address, the exchange's progress, and the transaction hash of the transfer to your address the moment it's sent, with a link to the block explorer. Keep the page's link: it identifies your swap.
Will anyone from Solar Swap ask for my seed phrase?
Never. No legitimate interface needs it. If someone asks, it is a scam.
